Why Choose PayPal?
PayPal is familiar and easy to use, with most people already having an account. Donations are processed instantly, and confirmations are sent right away. Your payment details stay secure behind PayPal’s encryption and fraud protection.
Gift Amounts, Fees, and Limits on PayPal
PayPal itself does not set a maximum donation amount, so large gifts are possible; however, your bank or card provider may have transaction limits, so check with them before sending a significant one-time gift.
Standard PayPal processing fees are about 2.89% plus $0.49 per transaction. Registered nonprofits may qualify for a discounted rate of 1.99% plus $0.49 per donation.
The memo or note field allows up to 255 characters, provided the “Allow note” option is enabled on the Donate button. You can use this space to give us a designation or message, but keep it short so it fits.
You can set recurring donations through PayPal’s Donate button to process monthly. Other intervals—like weekly, quarterly, or annual—are not built-in, so you may want to use one of our other giving methods for more flexibility if automating your giving.
